American Idol: Top 4 Perform

Tonight the top 4 took on two themes "California dreamin" which means songs by Californian artists. the first round wasn't really exciting at all, but the second theme "songs i wish id written" WOW those last two performances from Joshua and Jessica left me speechless! I already have my guess on who's going home tomorrow night (Hollie) and I'm not happy about it but, she was the weakest of the night. and i think Phillip had his moment tonight so hes definitely in the top 3. lets rank these pafomanceeezzz

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN

Phillip Phillips - "Have You Ever Seen The Rain"
Technically a good song for Phillips voice and the performance itself was just aight for me. the only thing i could think of was how Casey did this last year with his bass and killed it. typical Phillips performance but without the guitar.i think this showcased how much weaker his voice is compared to the other  contestants. also it was very forgettable. 6.5/10

Joshua Ledet - "You Raise Me Up"
Dedicated to his father..but isn't it mothers day?? OK i love the original song this is a very inspiring song but i don't think Joshua really did anything special with it. he sounded good he didn't scream or take it to church but i guess maybe he should have. he sounded good nonetheless and the rising platform what was that all about haha. 7/10

Hollie Cavanagh - "Faithfully"
It started off a little slow but when she hit those big notes at the end ..just yes! i actually really liked this performance much better than her second one but she could have picked something better than this. before her performance they showed her audition from last yr where she was so nervous and crying her eyes out, she has grown leaps and bounds a true comeback story. 7.5/10

Jessica Sanchez - "Steal Away"
Best of round one hands down, so sassy so much swag so much stank! get it Bebe chez haha. i never heard this song before and Jessica gets some heat for doing songs that are to old for her, but who cares! she did great...even if i couldn't understand a word she said. 8/10

SONGS THEY WISH THEY HAD WRITTEN

Hollie Cavanagh - "I Cant Make You Love Me"
Oh Hollie, you haven't been through any heartbreak to really do this song justice. i mean she sounded good but it lacked real emotion. the advice jimmy gave her telling her to not belt out the song i believe was a mistake. not the right song for Hollie and it worries me. the judges didn't like it, the only criticism they gave all night. 7.5/10

Phillip Phillips - "Volcano"
At first i was like nooooo how can he pick such an obscure song at this point in the competition but then i was like woooaaaahhh this was actually his best one of the entire show. he definitely bounced back from his first song and do i dare call it a moment? yes, this soft, haunting, artsy performance just made him stand out from all the big voices left on the show. i loved it, the judges loved it, jimmy loved it, and America will vote him through top 3. 8.5/10

Joshua Ledet - "Its A Mans Mans Mans World"
What? Joshua flippin Ledet! this is a Joshua performance worthy of 10 standing ovations. perfect song choice perfect perfect. where did this kid learn to sing like that. i thought "when a man loves a woman" was his best performance but this song takes the cake. i know the show has been picking Joshua as the favorite and it bothers me but he shouldn't be eliminated just yet with a performance like this one. 9.5/10

Jessica Sanchez - "And I Am Telling You"
_____________________ that's whats i said after watching this performance.SPEECHLESS! how old is Jessica? 16? how can she be so young and sing like this! she got the pimp spot and delivered a great rendition of the song, this goes up there with Jennifer Hudson and Lakisha Jones. only thing that bothered me is that she stood there like her feet were glued to the stage..weird. other than that she mopped the floor with the other contestants. 10/10

I think Hollie is in trouble but there is no telling this season.
